Powys lies upon the uppermost reaches of the Severn River and the wide country of mountains, hills, and crags of central Cambria. The hills are filled with cold, ruthless tribesmen who are experts in combat with the javelin and with long knives. Most of the local tribesmen scorn the fancy way of knights, and rather than fighting like men they swarm, like Picts. These hill men are one of the most readily available types of mercenaries. The people of Powys have maintained the old pagan ways, and are strong in their faith.

Glastonbury is the oldest Christian site on the island, settled by Joseph of Arimathea when he came here with the Holy Grail shortly after the death of Jesus. It is now the site of a monastery.
Ynys Avalon is a magical isle of the Ladies of the Lake, a pagan sisterhood. It can be reached only by magical means.
Wells is the largest city of the kingdom.
